The Health Policy Project ended in 2016. Work continued under Health Policy Plus (HP+) until 2022.

National Reproductive Health and Family Planning Symposium Held in Jordan

In Jordan, The Higher Population Council (HPC) and the Ministry of Health co-sponsored the first-ever National Reproductive Health/Family Planning Symposium in Jordan. Held on September 19-20, 2011, the Symposium attracted 155 participants, including MOH staff, health officials from all 12 governorates, print and broadcast journalists, and representatives from various ministries, universities, NGOs, professional associations, Royal Medical Services, UNWRA, USAID, UNFPA, and WHO.
HPP provided technical, logistical, and financial support for the symposium, which covered key technical areas and engaged FP/RH stakeholders in a dialogue regarding policy and program priorities. The three major themes were: maintaining the momentum for fertility decline, expanding access to long-acting contraceptive methods, and public-private partnerships.
