New video seeks to improve public perception of midwives in Tanzania
Posted April 23, 2012
Midwives are the linchpins of effective maternal healthcare systems in developing countries. In Tanzania, midwives face extraordinary staffing shortages, inadequate medical supplies at health facilities, and public scrutiny.
The Health Policy Project supports country-led advocacy initiatives to improve midwives’ working conditions by urging policymakers to support midwives through targeted policy commitments and increased funding and resources.
''What I Want is Simple'' is a short film produced by the White Ribbon Alliance in collaboration with the Health Policy Project to improve the public perception of midwives in Tanzania and mobilize support for advocacy targeting improvements in the working conditions of midwives.
